ReviewsJuly comfort Date of Stay: 2010-07-01 In Hyde Park, Vermont I found a gracious, historic restored mansion B&B,The Governor’s House. If you love to see grand old homes brought to new life through the love and hard work of its owner look no farther than this gem in the county seat of Lamoille County, 10 miles north of Stowe, Vermont. Inn keeper Suzanne Boden welcomed me even though I arrived well into the evening. I settled in into the “French Room” (though I only speak English and a little Spanish LOL) I loved the warm yellows and mint green decor. Large double hung windows opened to nights cooling breeze. I set my bags down and lay out on the sleigh style bed. Just as I let the day exhale from my lungs I heard the quaint chiming of the town clock tower. One…two… I counted along with it to nine. Nine o’clock. Too early to turn in. I could choose from dozens of DVD’s in the upstairs alcove, or read a book I tucked in my bag from home, or browse the many books in the downstairs library, or draw a bath in the claw-foot tub.
