gardens or wander woods and fields where wildlife abounds. Watch bluebirds flitter from fence to fence. Admire horses grazing on the knoll. Cool off with summertime wading in the Robinson River. Organize a game of croquet or volleyball on the rolling lawns or bike down surrounding country lanes. Swing in a strategically placed hammock that faces spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. White rockers line both levels of the expansive back porches, providing peaceful respites for sipping afternoon tea, reading a novel or watching breathtaking mountain sunsets.

Inside the grand Colonial mansion, you will find plenty of private nooks for reading, writing or quiet contemplation. Or join other guests for pleasant conversation in the parlor where Thomas Jefferson and General Lafayette were frequent visitors. A baby grand piano stands ready for impromptu concerts.

Cancellation Policy: 14 days notice of cancellation, minus a $25 cancellation fee. Holidays, Cooking School and group reservations require 30 days cancellation notice.

Driving Directions: From Washington, D.C.
Take Interstate 66 west to Rt. 29 south (Gainesville exit). 29 south to Rt. 15 south (Third Culpeper Exit) towards Orange. 9 miles south on Route 15, The Inn is on your right, just past the Crooked Run River. Drive time without traffic: 1 hour 15 minutes.

From Richmond:
Take Interstate 64 west to Rt. 15 North. Take 15 north through Orange, The Inn is 7 miles from Orange on the left, just over the Robinson River. Drive time without traffic: 1 hour 30 minutes.
