This circa 1810 plantation the origin of which derives its name from the original owners Scottish heritage from the northern coastal town in the Royal Burgh of Montrose - a proud little town that tells of a time when this was the prosperous home of merchants, sea captains and wealthy landowners. Not unlike the heritage of Onancock and Montrose House. The original occupant of this lovely colonial colonnade typical of the Eastern Shore was a sea captain.
