Casa Chilenne is a family owned and run Bed and Breakfast located in a historic, newly restored 4 story building . It is situated on the vital main road of Cortona at n°65 Via Nazionale, the true historic heart of the city. The city bus arrives and departs from Piazza Garibaldi which is about 100 feet (50 metres) from our front door. Restaurants, shops, tourist information office, post office, banks, bars and caffés can all be found literally a few steps away.
The building is clearly visible in a map drawn by Pietro Berrettini (Pietro da Cortona) in 1674 for the first printed city guide book , however, it most certainly existed prior to that date.
Its structure was remodeled and restored many times over the centuries but the restorations works of the 1800’s left the most notable touches of character.
During our restoration we tried to conserve the spirit of that era while providing all the comforts of modern life.
We have 5 rooms available for guests, each one with a private bath. They have direct dial telephone, air conditioning and heating, satellite tv with SKY cable service,Free WiFi and LAN cable connection to ADSL internet service, mini-bar, safe and hairdryers. Three of our rooms have a combination bath tub/ shower, while the other two have oversize showers. One of the rooms has a washing machine available for use by its occupants.
All floors have been rendered more easily accessible to those with mobility issues as we have fit the staircases with 4 chair lifts.
To insure a good night’s rest to our guests we have refit the windows with special double paned glass designed to reduce noise and maintain ideal temperatures in summer or winter.
On the top floor , we have a small lounge with fireplace, tv and a cooking corner with 2 burners, a microwave, espresso coffee machine, electric kettle and fridge available to clients. This area adjoins our terrace a perfect place to relax in good company.
We serve breakfast each morning in our breakfast room .
Maid service is provided daily.
We’d be happy to assist you in planning excursions, guided tours, cooking lessons. Car service and museum reservations can be arranged through us to.
Carlotta’s Corner
Our toy poodle, Carlotta and her daughter Daisy are the official concierge of the house they will announce your arrival. Our concierge is easily bribed with treats. Cancellation Policy: We kindly request 48 hours notice prior to planned arrival of cancellation. Late notification or no show penalty fee of 1 night's rate.

Breakfast: Buffet breakfast is served each morning in our breakfast room. Italian and American style coffee available, tea, hot chocolate, assorted baked goods, cereals, varied cold cuts and savory dishes, fresh fruits, yogurts, fruit juice, eggs made to order.

Driving Directions: Valdichiana exit from A1 Autostrada del Sole- follow signs in direction of Perugia, take exit to Cortona. Closest parking available at Piazza Garibaldi

Local Area Attractions: Cortona's impressive MAEC Archeological, Etruscan Museum, the Diocesano Museum with Fra'Angelico's "Annunciation",masterpieces by Luca Signorelli, Gino Severini, Pietro da Cortona, Le Celle Franciscan Monastery, Saint Margaret's Sanctuary, Teatro Signorelli, Saturday market, monthly collectibles market, Tuscan Sun Festival, various concerts and shows. Wine Country of Brunello, Vino Nobile of Montepulciano, Lake Trasimeno. Siena, Perugia, Deruta, Assisi can be visited in one hour's car ride- Florence and Rome easily accessible by train or car. Community swimming pool and tennis courts available in the public gardens.

Onsite Activities: Arrangements can be made for private excursions and activities such as cooking lessons/demonstrations, ceramics decoration, horseback riding, wine tours, artisans demonstrations.
