Map of Bowen Island

Hop on the 20-minute ferry from Horseshoe Bay or a water taxi from downtown Vancouver and escape to beautiful Bowen Island ~ Vancouver’s best-kept secret.

Inspired by nature, the environmentally-friendly Summerhill by the Sea is surrounded by trees and overlooks Snug Cove. It's just a short walk down Cates Hill to the docks, shops, galleries and cafes. SBS features a private suite: one bedroom with an ocean and mountain view, a private bathroom, a private livingroom area with a sectional pull-out for up to two additional guests plus a pool table, a separate entrance and a magnificent garden.

SBS specializes in writers’ retreats, adventure, family and of course romantic getaways. Summerhill is also open during the 2010 Winter Olympics.

“It’s just 15.5 miles northwest of Vancouver and about 60 miles south of Whistler. Effectively, it’s hidden in plain view, right in the midst of the 2010 Winter Games arena.” - NBCOlympics.com

SBS owners Andrea and Dave run several other environmental businesses including Love Trees and Andrea is the author of The Wish Trees, a children’s environmental story book.

A portion of Summerhill’s Bowen Island Bed and Breakfast profits will be donated to The ChariTREE Foundation ~ the children’s environmental education charity. Make a reservation to get away today!
