The inn, decorated top to bottom by your hosts, Pamela and Richard, reflects a casual, tasteful elegance. The Inn’s dominant views are westward looking and each room is painted to frame the magnificent Maine sunsets in pinks and blues and to echo the shoreline hues of gold and green. In addition to enjoying the first floor common rooms, guests may relax on the porch, explore the grounds, stroll down to the water’s edge, discover the old Trevett Swing Bridge and General Store, head down the road to the award-winning Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens or take a dip in our beautiful heated in-ground pool surrounded by our own “secret coastal Maine garden”. We have nine uniquely decorated rooms appointed in a contemporary-traditional style, all with private baths plus in room amenities including luxury pillow-top beds; Egyptian cotton towels and linens; quality bath products; soft, fluffy robes; alarm clocks and hair dryers; refrigerators and free Wireless Internet. Several rooms include upgraded amenities such as flat panel televisions, a whirlpool spa tub, or cozy electric fireplaces. All rooms offer water views. Breakfast: A full breakfast is served Breakfast at Hodgdon Island Inn is a real treat. It may consist of Baked Oatmeal, Blueberry waffles,apple pie pancakes, or one of many savory egg dishes, such as potato, egg and goat cheese soufflé, and egg-in-the-hole,sautéed mushrooms and tomatoes.

Driving Directions: Follow I-295 to Brunswick. Take Exit 28 or Exit 31 to Route 1 North. Follow Route 1 through Wiscasset. Just across the river bear right onto Route 27 out of Edgecomb south to Boothbay. After 9.3 miles, bear right at the Boothbay Civil War monument, across from the town common. Go straight at the stop sign. After a quarter mile, bear right onto Barters Island Road. The Inn is about 1.2 miles down the road past the Maine Botanical Gardens and will be on your left just before the Trevett Swing Bridge, General Store and Post Office.

Local Area Attractions: With the Hodgdon Island Inn Bed & Breakfast as your “Mid-coast home base”, you can spend a day “Down East”, north or South, to explore state parks and preserves, museums and historic sites, lighthouses, take a cruise, experience a clam bake, dine casually or in style, go antiquing or outlet shopping, or just take a walk or a swim – it’s all here for the doing and within a driving time from just minutes to a little over an hour.
