[opening statement]:

This is my wife Jody and my selves’ solemn promise to give an accurate review for the sole intention of helping the next person(s) considering dining or staying at the Hide Away Country Inn. With that said, I have no ill will toward the owner or staff.
[Facts of the matter]:
• My wife and I made reservations to eat Thanksgiving dinner at 2:00 pm in a private dining room and stay overnight at the Hide Away Country Inn sometime early November.

• My work schedule changed and I was forced to cancel our overnight stay but wanted to keep our Dinner Reservation.

• After we called to cancel our overnight stay we were told they indeed cancelled it hence, I asked for an E-mail confirmation. I was told it was going to be sent but she was busy at the moment and would send it later.

• Two days went by and still no E-mail confirmation was sent so I called again and was told something similar.

• I called again the next day and spoke with a gal named Krys Fearing who spoke pleasantly and professionally to us and within 30 seconds had a cancelled E-mail confirmation to us.

• We arrived at 1:55 pm Thanksgiving day.

• When we arrived there was no one to greet us so we uncomfortably eased our way to what we assumed was a waiting room… (mind you neither Jody nor I ate breakfast and were hungry at this point)… where they stored their deserts.

• Around 2:15 pm Jody and I became more frustrated because no one approached us or even seemed concerned that we were there.

• One lady in particular would come by from time to time and I said to my wife that I would let her know who we were the next time she comes by.
• Hence, I said… “excuse me we are the Kocaks and have a 2:00 pm reservation” whereas she rudely stated… “that’s fine but as you can see we are busy and your going to have to be patient”.

• What she said did not bothered my wife and I as much in comparison to how she said it, as well as the fact that we felt very vulnerable at this point because it is Thanksgiving day and we were hungry and couldn’t just get up and leave and go and eat elsewhere.

• Jody and I kept our eye on her and thought about reporting her to someone in authority later.

• By now it’s about 2:35 pm and Jody and I haven’t been approached formally yet or made to feel welcome at all in contrast felt like we were an inconvenience.

• We became more and more hungry by the minute as well as the deserts became more alluring so much so that I asked my wife to hand me one and without a fork lifted the chocolate cake up with my hands and my wife and I ate it together.

• Now about 2:50 Krys approaches us and states… “you must be the Kocak’s for the 2:00 pm reservation and said she’s sorry for the delay and stated we would be seated shortly in the private dining room per our reservation agreement.

• 3:00 rolls around and people in the main dining room were raping up their dinner but the private room we were promised was still occupied and as a result we were growing more anxious.

• Now the same lady who was rude to Jody and I approaches us and offers us a tour of the wine cellar of which we declined as she overtly tells us her name [Debbie Miller] and her title as the “OWNER”.

• Shortly after, Krys approaches us again appearing frustrated due to the fact that the guest in the private room was taking so long and offered us a seat in the main dinning room of which we appreciated. I asked… “can you give us an idea as to how much longer they will be in the private room?”

• Krys then went in and came back out and said that she hurried them out and that the room would be available momentarily.

• We went in around 3:15 whereas Krys waited on us but was getting anxious because she was due to leave soon her self to eat Thanksgiving at home.

• This Thanksgiving dinner was one of the most unique and best that Jody and I have ever had.

• Until… Debbie…A.K.A… “The owner” comes in to close our ticket and offers us to stay the evening.

• Whereas Jody and I struggled to keep our food down and couldn’t wait to get away from her.

• Hence, we paid the bill around 4:50 pm and politely tipped her and left.

REVIEW OF HIDE AWAY COUNTRY INN

BUYER BEWARE !!!!

My wife and I made reservations to eat Thanksgiving dinner at 2:00 pm in a private dining room at the Hide Away Country Inn sometime early November. Our experience was mixed as the dinning experience was excellent as oppose to our customer service experience with Debbie Miller A.K.A … “The Owner” as she likes to flaunt. We were not greeted upon arrival nor given any instructions in contrast we waited approximately an hour and fifteen minutes before we finally got seated. We found Debbie Miller very abrasive and rude in her demeanor after we introduced ourselves and stated that we had 2:00 pm reservations.
Then, about 3 days later we received a phone call from the HideAway Inn from a gal named Krys Fearing (an attendant at the Inn) asking how our dinner was and if we were still interested in making Christmas Eve and Christmas Day stay over reservations. Of which I told her that I was disappointed with Debbie Millers customer relations and the amount of time it took to get seated given the fact that we had reservations. Then Krys abruptly said hang on let me let you talk to the Chef. Then, the Chef gets on the phone and I re-explained what happened afterward he apologized and asked us to give the HideAway a second chance and as a result would not only oversee our stay but comp us both Christmas Eve and Christmas Days dinner (excluding food, i.e. just the room itself) in a private dinning room with a fire place. My wife and I said we would call him back in about 20 minutes after discussing the matter. Hence we called back and reluctantly decided to give the Chef a second chance to redeem our experience at the HideAway.
Later we arrived Christmas Eve around 4:00 pm and our entire experience was fabulous until our second and final dinner on Christmas Day when about two hours before dinner we received a phone call from the Chef whereas he stated in a very cold statement something to the effect as … Tony I can’t allow you to dine tonight in the private dinning room due to the fact that it was already booked about a month ago and I didn’t know about it until tonight hence, I was so taken back by his statement that I said that I would need to speak with my wife about how we would proceed and call him shortly. About ten minutes later I called back and told him to just cancel our dinner reservations if he would not honor the agreement we had originally made of which he said ok. We found both the Chef and the staff at this point very unprofessional as we called later and stated the room was increasingly cold even though we had the heat set high. We were then told that the fireplace would need to be operational in order to offset what the electric heater wouldn’t do. We then stated that there was a stiff wind coming through the fireplace and it would fill the cherry suite with smoke. They insisted we light a fire of which we did and as I stated earlier it did fill with smoke and we did not receive the attention to resolve it at all, instead my wife and I had to resolve it our selves.
The next day, there was something diabolical, even going as far as to say… sinister about the staff as to how they closed me out before leaving. The chef met me and my wife as we were loading our final belongings into our van and tried to follow us whereas I told him I would be with him momentarily. He asked if we were going to have breakfast and I said “no”, then there was tension. When I came to the office to check out Debbie was in the wings and when one of the clerks couldn’t complete a task she stepped in. Now, the chef was in the room trying to make small talk of which I was in no mood while Debbie was checking me out. There was overt tension of which I tried to avoid any conversation until I could cool off and collect my thoughts and feelings about the matter because I was so frustrated and baffled over my stay that I couldn’t think clearly. The check was correct and as I was leaving I was graced with what I felt like smug comments especially from Debbie A.K.A … “the owner” as she said … “you have a good day man”, [remember that Debbie]… (very unprofessional). On the way home my wife and I both stated almost at the same time … “I knew we shouldn’t have given them a second chance”
