This majestic historic mansion overlooks the Town of Greenville, the East Cove of Moosehead Lake and the Big and Little Moose Mountain ranges. A leisurely one block stroll from the front door will have you at the shore of Moosehead Lake and the shopping area of Greenville, Maine. The English tiled fireplaces, quarter sawn oak interiors and original hand carved wood work are just a few of the features that have been lovingly maintained throughout the Inn’s history. An impressive collection of historic local New England photographs, old family photos and superb paintings are displayed throughout the Inn.

Your choice of accommodations is delightfully varied with rooms, suites and cottages; all individually decorated. The individually appointed guest rooms are equipped with all the comforts and facilities for discerning leisure and business travelers, including cable TV, and private baths. Each Suite has its own unique décor, some with original wood burning fireplaces, private sitting rooms, oversized soaking tubs, marble English shower, fluffy robes, air conditioning or a two person bubble whirlpool tub. Choose from one of the delightfully decorated private cottages, with private sitting areas, overstuffed chairs and private baths, each cottage overlook the mountains. Our English Cottages and Carriage House Suite are perfect accommodations for family and weekend getaways.

Driving Directions: From the South: I-95 north to Newport exit 157. Rt.'s 7/11 North to Corinna, where Rt. 7 & 11 split. Take Rt. 7 North to Dexter. Rt. 23 north to Sangerville, left on Rt. 15 north to Greenville. The second street after the flashing yellow traffic light in Greenville is Norris Street. Turn right on Norris Street…the inn is on the left. From Bar Harbor: Rt. 3 west to Ellsworth. Rt. 1A west to Brewer, take business Rt. 1A (State Street) across the bridge into Bangor. After bridge continue straight to Rt. 15 north (Broadway Ave.) to Greenville. The second street after the flashing yellow traffic light in Greenville is Norris Street. Turn right on Norris Street…the inn is on the left. From Quebec City: I-73 south to Rt. 173 south to U.S. border. Rt. 201 south to Jackman. Left turn on Rt. 15 south to Greenville. Approaching Greenville: Proceed down the hill overlooking Moosehead Lake (a popular picture spot) and watch for the flashing yellow traffic light (we say "the" not "the first" because there is no other!). Local Area Attractions: Moosehead Lake region is a "Leaf Peeping" destination. Every year we are treated to a spectacular display of brilliant colors from our expansive verandah. Canoeing and kayaking on a serene lake amid the brilliance of the fall foliage is as "good as it gets"! Being situated between the Kennebec, Penobscot and Dead Rivers makes us a perfect spot for the river enthusiast. There are several rafting companies in the area and we can help you arrange an exciting outing! Our area has some of the best hiking in the northeast. A free hikers guide is available and it details numerous trips of varied duration and difficulty level. You are sure to find something to fit your personal desires. The abundance of our lakes and ponds in the Moosehead area offer all types of opportunities. Kayak and canoe rentals can be arranged as well as expert advice on water that may appeal to your particular interests. One of the favorite summer activities is taking a moose safari. Search for these majestic moose in Maine's northwoods and watersheds with one of our Registered Maine Guides, who can offer many different options. The Moosehead Lake area is ideal for birding. Enjoy the hard-to-find species (like the Spruce Grouse, left) amid lakes, streams, and bogs. The Moosehead Lake Region was the first area in the state to be researched and mapped for the Maine Birding Trail. If golf is your "game", then we have area golf courses to choose from. We have a local stable for those of you that enjoy horseback riding. Our Winter Wonderland supplies us with not just spectacular views, but with a multitude of winter activities. Enjoy snowmobiling on one of the many trails, snowshoeing, dog-sledding and skiing, just to name a few. And afterwards, how about curling up with a cup of cocoa by the crackling fire?
