Grey Gables  

Located in the historic California Gold Rush area of the Sierra Foothills, the Grey Gables Inn brings a touch of the English countryside to the Mother Lode. The inn has eight elegantly decorated guestrooms named for English poets such as Byron, Browning, and Shelley. Rooms are furnished with authentic antiques and each has air conditioning, a fireplace, and full private baths some with classic clawfoot baths.
Outside, red brick pathways lead the way to a terraced garden with fountains, vine covered arbors, and a multitude of colorful plants and flowers. In true English tradition, the Garlick’s serve afternoon tea with cakes or scones in the formal parlor, as well as the evening hor d’oeuvres and refreshments that have become a bed and breakfast tradition.
A gourmet breakfast is served, featuring Sue’s ever-changing array of culinary creations with an English flair. Guests may enjoy the meal in the relaxed social atmosphere of the dining room, or take breakfast in the privacy of their own room.

Driving Directions: The Grey Gables Inn, 161 Hanford Street, Sutter Creek, can be reached from Sacramento by taking highway 50 east to 16, 16 east to 49, 49 south to Sutter Creek. From Stockton, take highway 88 east to Jackson, then highway 49 north to Sutter Creek.

Local Area Attractions: The Inn is a short walk to antique and unique gift shops, and dinning from casual to elegant. Located on Highway 49, Sutter Creek is centrally located for California Gold Rush History, and over 20, award-winning Wineries.
