Minutes south of St Augustine, Florida, Channel Marker 71 Barrier Island Inn and Restaurant is located one hour North of Daytona and an hour South of Jacksonville. We are located on the narrowest southern end of St. Augustine & St. Johns County Beach, Anastasia Island and walking distance to Crescent Beach (1 mile north of Marineland). Directly on the Intracoastal Water Way with boating access, the Inn hosts a 650-foot boardwalk dock. Guests enjoy viewing the protected estuaries, an Audubon lovers' bird sanctuary, manatees, and the 1740 National Monument Fort Matanzas. Across the river is a newly acquired 4,200 acres conservation land by the U.S. Forestry, Fort Mantanzas. The area is known for its golf amenities, charter fishing, and now with the Island Massage and Skin opening just a mile north of the inn, the girl's get-a-way spa packages are in hot demand. On site there are 2 pools, a resistance swimming pool and a Jacuzzi. The pools are marsh & waterfront. While relaxing in the pools, bathers become participants with the natural habitat whether by day or the evening constellation. St. Augustine is centrally located for events in Daytona & Jacksonville such as NASCAR, Bike Week, Florida/Georgia Game and TPC. St. Augustine has several local events hosting the King Fish Tournament, Nights of Lights, First Friday Art Walk, and Art & Seafood Festivals. Channel Marker 71 Barrier Island hosts several parties throughout the year. One is being Marti Gras with all proceeds going to Learn to Read of St. Johns County.
Barrier Island Inn offers ten luxurious appointments, all unique with excellent amenities. Designed as country a inn in 2001, the owner Heather Michael quickly realized her inn was not your typical mom and pop bed and breakfast. |
